Restoring My Soul Challenge
Several weeks ago when we were camping early in the morning I went out on the hillside. I went to an open spot where I could see a full meadow open into a canyon to see the day be born. In the early morning light I sat there counting my blessing of living so close to these beautiful mountains. This seemed to be the world at it’s perfection. This was one of God’s most beautiful creations, and in this idyllic setting He did not seem far away. It seemed as though my soul had been restored, that I had a new found energy to go back to my daily duties and I recalled these lines from the 23rd Psalm: “He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” (Ps.23:2-3)Not only did I receive this peace from the beauty of the mountains around me but from the security of knowing that God lives and from the testimony of His work upon the earth. It is not where but who and how. That great psalm tells us that God restores our souls. This happens when we come to know the Savior through keeping his commandments and serving him. The challenge is to create a layout about a time when the Lord restored your soul or a layout pertaining to these scriptures Psalm 23:2-3.I have a photo of these mountains and my journaling reads:In this beautiful setting God did not seem far away. In this beautiful scene, so peaceful, so restful, it seemed as though my soul had been restored. Psalm 23:2-3Blessings,

Scripture Challenge - Treasure - WEEK 36

Scripture Challenge {Week 36}
Week 36 Challenge Word: Treasure
What do you value or treasure most? What is most important in your life? Is it God? How about your kids? What about money? A treasure is a valuable object that can be either physical or spiritual. Max Lucado suggests a great activity when discussing treasures:**Make a list of things the world treasures.**Which of these do you treasure?**What does God treasure?**How can you better spend your time and money to reflect what God treasures? And something we discussed in BSF last year—“If the way we spend our time reveals what we consider our greatest treasure, how does the way I spend my time reveal my treasure?”Ouch! Yes, I am probably stepping on toes today. Do you see some things in your life that you need to reprioritize? I know I do!How do you show Jesus that He is your treasure? How might God be asking you to share that treasure? If we want to show others Jesus and what we value or treasure most, then we need to be the same person inside and out. If Jesus is our treasure, then we need to try to seek His purpose in everything we do. The NIV Life Application Study Bible says that “if Jesus is gone from our lives, everything else becomes useless no matter how valuable it may seem.” Wow, that is something to really think about.

Scripture Challenge - FEAR - WEEK 37

Scripture Challenge {Week 37} - Copied and pasted from Patters Blog!
Week 37 Challenge Word: Fear
What are your fears? Some fear is healthy and protects us. Some fear is unhealthy and can hold us back from doing what God wants us to do or growing as God wants us to grow. Fear equals 'unfaith'. The way out of that fear is faith in God. Give up those fears and replace it with faith in Him. Max Lucado says it so beautifully, “Don’t cover them up with a blanket or ignore them with a nervous grin. Don’t turn up the TV and pretend they aren’t there. Instead, stand still, whisper His name, and listen. He is nearer than you think.”That is so true. He is right here beside me, and He is right there beside you! With Him there is nothing to fear. Nothing is too big for God. He is Sovereign and in control of all things. Trust in Him.I already had the verse I was going to use this week until I sat down to read the scripture in my BSF lesson. God gave me two other verses instead:Isaiah 43:1 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”Isaiah 43:5 "Do not be afraid for I am with you."Goodness, how perfect.

Challenge #17-
Create a layout of a moment or time that you or someone you know has been tested and tried or has been through the fire. Share if you could, how your perseverance has paid off and how the Lord has used your experience to be a demonstration of God's power that was at work within you. Or if you are going through a difficult trial at the moment, you can create a layout acknowledging that you are this jar of clay being molded and transformed through the fire and to declare that power in Christ that is within you.

I want to tell everyone that I am so grateful to have had each of you in my life. I pray you all have a blessed day. It was difficult for me to decide who I thought would DO this because many people claim to pray, but not everyone does. I hope I chose the right twelve. Please send this back to me. (You'll see why). May everyone who received this message be blessed? There are 12 months / 12 disciples/ 12 tribes of Israel /Jesus' birth celebrated in the 12th month. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve others. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer. May today be all you need it to be? May the Peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest Himself today in ways you have never experienced? May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.

This is so nice from a friend! Thanks Leslie!

A woman has strengths that amaze me...
She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens
She holds happiness, love & opinions
She smiles when she feels like screaming
She sings when she feels like crying
She cries when she's happy, and laughs when she's afraid,
and her love is unconditional.
There's only one thing wrong with her, she forgets what she's worth!'
I'm Blessed, And so are You.

Joel and Victoria Daily

Detoxing Your Mind
We hear a lot about detoxing our physical bodies today from all the chemicals, bacteria and pesticides in our foods. It does our body good to go through deep cleanses and rid our bodies of toxins. In the same way, there are all kinds of toxins that can build up in our mind. When we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can’t do, how somebody hurt us, what someone said we couldn’t do, and how we’ll never get ahead; those thoughts are toxic thoughts. And toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste. It will eventually contaminate our whole life. It affects our self-image. It affects our attitude and our level of confidence. It becomes a part of who we are. That’s why it says in Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else guard your heart for it affects everything you do.” The writer is saying to make guarding your mind a priority. Put this at the top of your “To Do” list because if your mind gets polluted, your whole life is going to be polluted. Every morning when we get up, we should go through this cleansing and detoxing. Forgive the people that have hurt us. Let go of every disappointment. Detox low self-esteem. Detox the negative words. Detox little dreams. If you will guard your mind and not let these toxic thoughts take root, but keep it full of faith-filled thoughts, you’re going to rise higher and higher into new levels with God!
