A New Day. A New Day in History.
Today is a big day, if you haven't heard. LOLOf course you have.Barack Obama will be inaugurated later this morning.Thank God for television and the internet. Thank God we can all share in this really amazing moment.History is being made, and soon we'll have a new First Family.

I can only imagine what that family will feel as they look out at all the millions of people. I see it on television and I already from that, get emotional. I can only imagine what this family will feel.I say to them on this historic day --"I wish you love. I wish you grace. I wish you humility."Such huge changes for them. Starting today. Life will change.Let us all pray and be united in our renewed hopes and positive thoughts towards this family. Oh, what they must be feeling.

His Holy Name & Scripture Challenge {Instructions/FAQ}

I am getting a lot of questions of how to participate in these challenges. So, let me see if I can explain how it will work for both challenges.**I will post an attribute of God or a word if you are doing the Scripture Challenge every other Sunday beginning January 4, 2009.**My post will also share some thoughts, the scripture or scriptures that I chose, and a picture of my card or scrapbook page.**Then you will study your Bible and find scriptures that are meaningful to you based on that word or attribute.**I love using Biblegateway to look up single keywords in the Bible. It is a great resource for this study.**Then you will create a card or scrapbook page based on the word or attribute and the scripture you have chosen.

To all my online friend even if your not a scrapbooker, you can still join... get a journaling notebook follow us bi-weekly and get all the strength from the challenge... Trust me you will have a blast ....

Faith Sisters - His Holy Name {Introduction}

Before we begin our study of our first attribute of God on January 4th, I wanted to share a few things that Jean Nystrand, Executive Director of Bible Study Fellowship, said about studying God's attributes. I loved it, I have it written in my journal for this year's study, and I pray you enjoy it too. Here is what Jean said:
**God's attributes are what we know to be true about Him.
**His Word is His revelation of Himself to us.
**His attributes do not increase or diminish.
**They do not contradict each other.
**Praising God for His attributes gives us a high view of Him (seeing God as who He really is and ourselves as who we really are before Him).
**We can never know too much about Him.
**We need to know our Creator and base our lives on Him.
**Because of who He is and what He has done for us, God has a right to place a call or claim on our lives.

Also, I wanted to let you know what our keywords will be for both challenges. You will use the applicable keyword in any gallery where you post your work so that it will be easy for us to find your creations!
These keywords will be used all year long.

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata, but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point. Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
sets aside decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way. Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust.
But giving the gift of love will endure.
Merry Christmas! -- Author Unknown

Scripture Challenge - Week 50 - Assurance

Scripture Challenge {Week 50}

Week 50 Challenge Word: Assurance

What is assurance? Webster’s says “the state of being confident; certainty; guarantee.” Do you have the assurance that you are a child of God? Do you know it and feel it in your heart? This word always makes me think of the old hymn “Blessed Assurance.” The first line of that beautiful hymn is “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!”

I do love this Hymn, one of my favorite hymn as a child I remember my Favorite Aunt Lizzie (Elizabeth Macon) was her name she used to sing it to me .... Boy oh Boy thinking back I really love my favorite aunt lizzie, and I miss her so much. She was accutly my Great Aunt she died when I was in the 5th grade, I was so hurt, i remember like it was yesterday! .... Running home from school cause she was surposed to be coming home after being in the hospital for over 6 mths, I was told that she was getting better and coming home.... When me and my older brother Roy got home, the phone ran and the voice on the other line said can i please speak to Hester Malone or Rose Graves .. the person said it's Dr ?? from Brooklyn Jewish hospital ..... So we being so excited called my mom at work and said the hospital wants you to come right away and get Aunt Lizzie, me and my brother still not understanding thought it was time for her to come home... Low and behold.... she had Passed away at 3:15 pm that day ...... and after my mom and Aunt Hester .... had to go to the hospital ..... Boy oh BOy memroies ... what a great thing to have .... She was the one that got me hooked on drama/murder mystries... I remeber watching Perry Mason with her, last nights we would stay up and watch Odd Couple, Hooneymooner, Street of San Franciso ....

Now this is funny... bruce and shawn are funny!

Now this is funny ... Shawn and Bruce had use laughing all night!
