Daily Christian Wisdom

Daily Christian Wisdom

If God can bring blessing from the broken body of Jesus and glory from something that's as obscene as the cross, He can bring blessing from my problems and my pain and my unanswered prayer. I just have to trust Him.
Give Generously
Today's Scripture

“...the righteous give generously ” (Psalm 37:21).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Did you know that when you give to others in need, the Bible says it’s like giving directly to God Himself? When you step out and bless other people, you are honoring and blessing the Lord. The scripture tells us to give our best, to give generously. In other words, stretch yourself. Go out of your way. It may be uncomfortable to walk over and pay for someone’s gas, but that’s being generous. I encourage you today, look for ways to give generously and meet the needs of others. Remember, people have many different types of needs. There may be someone who needs some encouragement. Give generously when you give that encouragement. There may be someone in your life who just needs a friend. They need some quality time. Give generously of your time and pour into that person. As you give generously to others, God will multiply the seeds you’ve sown, and you’ll live in blessing all the days of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I come to You today, giving all that I have to You. Open my eyes to the needs around me and show me how to be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Scripture Challenge - Week 19 - Desire

Scripture Challenge {Week 19}
Week 19 Challenge Word: Desire

What is desire? According to Webster’s, it is “to wish, long for, crave, or covet.” And according to Vine’s Dictionary of the Bible, it is “a craving or lust.” Vine’s also reminds us that there are good desires and evil desires. Whatever our desires are, they should be in line with God’s desires not the world’s. Do we want what He desires for us or what we selfishly desire for ourselves? Make a list of your desires, good and bad. Pray about them especially those evil desires. God’s desires for us are so much better and more meaningful than our own. I think a lot of us know that but it is so hard to remember sometimes especially in our weak moments.
Max Lucado says it so perfectly again this week, “In all of our thoughts, all of our actions, in every part of our character, the ruling principle that motivates and guides us should be the desire to follow Christ in doing the will of the Father.” Wow! So perfectly put and something I need to keep at the forefront of my mind!
I love the scriptures that Patter Choose - For my scriptures this week, I chose:Psalm 40:8 "I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."Proverbs 11:23 "The desire of the righteous ends only in good. . ."
Scripture Challenge {Week 20}
Week 20 Challenge Word: Creator

This week, I want us to look at God as Creator.
The very first verse in the Bible tells us that God is Creator! Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” His creation reveals that there is a Creator. God clearly reveals Himself through all of His creation.

Even in the smallest of details, He created us. We are created for eternal fellowship with Him. We are created to worship Him. In Him, we are a new creation in Christ. And what about His creation around us? Doesn’t looking at the intricate details of a flower just amaze you? How about the beauty of a sunrise or sunset? What relaxes you or brings you joy if you are stressed or sad? How about His creation? Does it bring you peace?

I know it does for me. I love hearing the ocean waves or the birds early in the morning or seeing the rays of sun come through the clouds. What a gift He has created and given us to see, to hear, to enjoy!

copied and pasted from Patter Blog.. go check it out she does Wonderful Work....
My challenge to you this week is to look around you! Enjoy what He has created. Thank Him. Praise Him. Share Him.:Isaiah 40:28a “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.”Colossians 1:16 “For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities all things were created by Him and for Him.” He is the Creator and nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17).
If you want to work alone Check out - Bible Gateway to help with your studies, there are several words that might help you this week as you study. Some words I looked up were: creator, create, created, maker, make, etc.

Have a great week, and enjoy drinking in His creation!

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Get Wisdom
Today's Scripture

“Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom” (Proverbs 4:7).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God wants us to know Him better. He wants us to know what to do in every situation. He wants us to have His wisdom so we can live the abundant life He has prepared for us. Wisdom is simply knowing the mind of God about a particular thing. It’s found in the Word of God. Proverbs says that when we reverence and honor the Lord, it opens the door to wisdom in our life. God’s wisdom is not like earthly wisdom. In other words, God’s wisdom won’t always make sense to your natural mind. For instance, the world’s wisdom says in order to increase, keep what you have. God’s wisdom says to give what you have and it shall be given back to you in greater measure. God’s wisdom is supreme. How do you “get” wisdom? First of all, James tells us simply to ask for it. And then open your heart to the Word of God; obey His commands and honor Him. As you are diligent to seek wisdom, you will find it. As you honor the Lord, He will honor you. He’ll pour out His favor on you, and you’ll live in wisdom and blessing all the days of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for the privilege to boldly come before Your throne of grace. I humbly ask You for wisdom, for understanding, for Your direction. I receive it all now, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“THE COMPANY YOU KEEP” ANONYMOUS
It Is Better To Be Alone, Than In the Wrong Company

Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights. "A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses." The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and the bad.
The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.
Consider this:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people.
Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.
Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.
Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.
Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships.
Happy moments? Praise God Difficult moments? Seek God Quiet moments? Worship God
Painful moments? Trust God
Every moment? Thank God

Okay, so today we studied Matthew 27:32-66 (Jesus' crucifixion and burial). We were talking about all of the amazing things that happened during His burial and how God's plans will always be fulfilled! God holds everything together when things seem to be falling apart. Then our teaching leader says, "Have you heard of laminin? Do you know what laminin is?" Well, it is a protein molecule, and it is the glue that basically holds all of our cells together.

So you want to see what the cell structure of laminin looks like?Is that not amazing????? I was in AWE! In Him ALL things hold together (Colossians 1:16-17). So, by the Cross, we will not fall apart. I just love this!!! I pray you enjoyed it too!

Poem - Very Nice..

Poem

I was shocked, confused, bewilderedas I entered Heaven's door,Not by the beauty of it all,nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heavenwho made me sputter and gasp--the thieves, the liars, the sinners, the alcoholics, the trash
There stood the kid from seventh gradewho swiped my lunch money twice.Next to him was my old neighborWho never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thoughtwas rotting away in hell, was sitting pretty on cloud nine, looking incrediblywell.
I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?I would love to hear Your take. How'd all these sinners get up here?God must've made a mistake.
"And why's everyone so quiet,so somber? Give me a clue.""Hush, child," said He, "they're all in shock. No one thought they'd be seeing you.
"Judge NOT!!!
